Mäpt Nji-ēfilf (/nji/ /æ̝ˈfilf/ [good; hot (attractive); fine (okay); great (excellent)] [length]) is a subtropical Town located in the Ádraptlērg Region of the Confederation of Goblin Tribes.

The name Mäpt Nji-ēfilf is derived from the Gnollish language, as Mäpt Nji-ēfilf was founded by Iggy vyim Yuvnofilf, who was culturaly Gnollish.

Climate

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has a yearly average temperature of 13°C (55°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a pleasant 25°C (77°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 1°C (33°F). Mäpt Nji-ēfilf receives an average of 295 cm/y (116 in/y) of precipitation, most of which comes in the form of snow during the pleasantly short winter months. Mäpt Nji-ēfilf covers an area of nearly 5 km2 (2 mi2), and an average elevation of 3090 m (10137 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf was founded durring the late 13th century in summer of the year 1196, by Iggy vyim Yuvnofilf. The establishment of the new community went well, with no major obsticles durring construction.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf was built using the conventions of Gnollish durring the late 13th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Mäpt Nji-ēfilf is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf is buildings are arranged arround a network of broad baked earthen streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town has a defencive wall made from querried stone. The wall is equipped with a full set of battlments but the nature of its construction methodology leaves it somewhat vulnerable to siege equipment. That said, the town is well defended against anything short of an army. The town's cost-cutting-focused defences have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has something terribly wrong with it. It’s impossible to put one’s finger on, but something is horribly wrong. Maybe it’s the way fog blankets the ground, but only in the connors of places. Maybe it’s the vermin scuttling between shadows in the corner of your eyes. Perhaps it’s the overcast sky which seemed to creep out of nowhere, or the distant howling of wolves. Everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or both. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable. People seem to be allowed to do as they please with little harmoney to anything. It feels less like a town, and more like a spot people just happened to place their homes. Regardless, you do not feel it would be wise to remain in Mäpt Nji-ēfilf long.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Mäpt Nji-ēfilf. They are also responsible for the maintenance of these features. Notably, the OCG is not responsible for Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's parks.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Mäpt Nji-ēfilf.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands. They are not to be confused with the Office of Civil Groundskeeping as they do not hold authority over nor responsibility for Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's natural decorations nor waterways.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf has a public septic system, which allows its citizens to have indoor bathrooms. The septic system is overseen by the League of Sewerkeepers, who posses the legal authority to enforce all laws relating to the septic system, and are also tasked with its maintenance and upkeep.

The locals are convinced that there is some terrible threat against them working from within their society. It may be a matter of dark sorcerers, foreign spies, traitorous neighbors, shape shifting monsters, or some other hidden evil. This evil may be a recent fear, or it may be an inherited peril they’ve always had to guard against. The danger itself may or may not exist, or if it exists it may not justify the steps being taken.

Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used which employed abundant symbolic geometry, using pure forms such as the circle and square, and plans are based on often symmetrical layouts featuring rectangular courtyards and halls. These structures were is decorated with carved stone or stucco reliefs and made use of colorful stone mosaics..

In Mäpt Nji-ēfilf all of the cats speak the local language with prefect diction.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the late 2nd century, Mäpt Nji-ēfilf was attacked by soldiers from another nation, waging a greater campaign. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Mäpt Nji-ēfilf lost 101 people, 247 livestock, and 66 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 114, when members of Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's militia enacted an operation to transport a specific warchest to a particular depot unharmed. The operation was complicated by major logistical problems. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a crushing defeat for Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Mäpt Nji-ēfilf's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
